Aiteo Cup: Ubakanma Warns Rivers United Against Complacency Ahead Of Tornadoes Clash

Following their latest win over Lobi Stars of Makurdi in the ongoing 2019 Aiteo Cup on Wednesday, Rivers United's Peter Ubakanma has warned his side against complacency.

The Pride of Rivers are unbeaten in the famous completion, after overcoming Timberloaders, Akwa United, Warri Wolves, before adding last season's CAF Champions league campaigners Lobi Stars to their list of casualties.

While speaking in an exclusive interview with , Ubakanma who has registered two goals and three assists in the competition, said the team is finally playing to their true potentials .

"We struggled to score goals in the league, which makes hard for us win big games, but the Aiteo Cup has witnessed different Rivers United"

"We are scoring for fun and also defending well , the game against Lobi Stars shows how resolute we are because we couldn't get the goals , but we defended well and won after the penalties shootout."

After their quarter final victory Lobi Stars in a well contested game at the Otunbu Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu Ode, The Stanley Eguma led boys will now face Niger Tornadoes in one of the semi-finals and the former MFM midfielder has warned his team against complacency.

"We must not be carried away with our runs in the competition, because we haven't achieved any success yet".

"The next game will be crucial for us and I hope will can bring our best to the table and pick the final ticket at the expense of dangerous Niger Tornadoes". He concluded.

Meanwhile, in other semi final match, last year's finalists, Kano Pillars will take on NNL side Calabar Rovers.
