Emulate Late Abiola's Virtue, Dapo Abiodun Charges Nigerian Politicians

ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has enjoined Nigerian politicians to always emulate the virtue of late MKO Abiola to strengthen the political system of the country. 

Governor Abiodun spoke on Wednesday at a special prayer held at the family house of the late business mogul in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Noimot Salako - Oyedele hailed federal government's decision in proclaiming June 12 as Democracy Day, saying it was actualisation of people's wishes.

He therefore assured that the government would continue to be fair, equitable and just to everyone irrespective of political affiliation. 

The Governor urged the people to obey the law of the state, saying good governance would be core mandate of the current administration.

He however solicited for the support of the people in order to build a better future.

Meanwhile, the son of the late Moshood  Kashimawo Abiola, Abdul Mumeen Abiola has commended the federal government for recognising June 12 as Democracy Day.

He spoke at their family house, Gbagura, Abeokuta, Ogun State where the state government organised a special prayer session for the deceased.

He disclosed that decision was for the entrenchment of Nigeria's democracy.

He urged the federal government to into the late business tycon manifestoes, especially the areas of poverty alleviation, insisting that the government must address the level of poverty in the country.
