Ogun Government Sets Up Panel To Review Amosun’s Projects

ABEOKUTA - Ogun State government has constituted a committee to review the contracts and projects embarked upon by Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration in the state.

According to the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, the committee, chaired by President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Adekunle Mokuolu, and 10 others is to probe the contracts and projects carried out by Amosun at the twilight of his administration.

Talabi stated that the panel is expected to identify all outstanding significant construction/projects in the state and ascertain whether or not there was budgetary provision for them in the budget estimates for the year under review.

The SSG said the committee’s terms of reference include ascertaining the process of award of contracts in line with the established procedures and necessary regulations.

He said the committee will also determine the level of execution and quality of output of the projects and assess the disbursement pattern in line with the established process and procedure.

Other terms of reference given to the committee include; to ascertain the process of award of contracts in line with the established procedures and necessary regulations.

Other Committee members include; Oshiberu Remi (Civil/Structural), Dunni Opayemi (Architect), Ade Akinsanya (Civil Engineer), Jamiu Akande Omoniyi (Special Adviser, Housing) and Fari Bayo (Quantity Surveyor), Dipeolu Kayode (Quantity Surveyor).         

Others are; John Obafemi (Quantity Surveyor), Mr. A.A Oyefeso (Legal Counsel) and Akinlabi Oluyomi  (Archiect) while the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Sunday Adeyemi will serve as Secretary of the committee.
