Alake Commends Immigration Service For Protecting Nigerian Borders

ABEOKUTA - The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has commended the Nigerian Immigration Service's role for consistently working in collaboration with other security Agencies towards total security of the country.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, made the observation while receiving the new Comptroller of Immigration in Ogun State, Mrs. Doris Braimah, at the Ake Palace.

The Alake noted that, illegal migrants have added to the high rate of insecurity and crimes in Nigeria adding that he was impressed that the Immigration Service was living up to its billings in as a foremost security agent in curtailing the worrisome influx.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo also enjoined the Service to ensure that it stemmed the illegal employment of unqualified  foreign nationals, coming to the country to take over jobs that Nigerians were even more competent and qualified Nigerian, to perform.

The Alake however expressed displeasure that the NIS was alway complaining of not having enough Passport Jackets adding that it was very bad that we never enough of what every Nigerian should possess in as a free citizen.

Alake pointed out that Passport was the right of every Nigeria.

He urged them to work closely with other security agents to rid the country illegal immigrants.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo also enjoined the Service to ensure that it stemmed the employment of unqualified and illegal foreign nationals, coming to the country to take over jobs that Nigerians were even more competent and qualified to perform. 

Being the 23rd Controller, Alake prayed that she would have been promoted.

Earlier in her speech, the new  Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mrs Doris Braimah told the Alake that it was the responsibility of the NIS to monitor and register foreigners.

She said that NIS should have the records/data of all immigrants in the country to make sure we were not harbouring undesirable elements.

She added that Security was the responsibility of every one, explaining that, assuring the Alake and the people of Ogun State that her Command would do everything possible to ensure that the country was safe and unqualified foreign experts were prevented from entering and working in Nigeria.
