Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji
LAGOS - Scores of customers, who thronged the Sango - Ota branch of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) on Monday experienced the shocker of their lives following the insensitivity and non-challancy which personnel of the bank displayed towards their clients.

The customers who visited the bank to make transactions especially during the festive period, were disappointed with the ineptitude of the staff who abandoned customers on a long queue unattended to.

Some of the customers who spoke with THE ENCOUNTER NEWS regretted banking with the financial institution for their poor service delivery and customer care service.

According to Hon. Semiu Babatunde, a customer of the bank, described the customer service as horrible and palatable.

Babatunde said the banking hall is usually flooded with hundreds of customers with only two cashiers at the counter to attend to them.

He explained that, the development has on many occasions denied customers smooth transaction at the bank, while many were stranded for hours.

"We don't even know if this is a bank or market place because of the multitude crowd that usually besiege this place. On daily basis we are forced to go through this horrible experience.

"Imagine, I was here since 8:30am just to make a withdrawal of N50,000, but to my shocking surprise, I didn't left the banking hall until 12:45pm. As a civil servant I had to pleaded with my boss in office to escape query.

"There are many customers coming to the bank everyday, but there are shortage of staff to attend to customers and when they are under pressure, they will talk to customers anyhow without any regard. This is absurd and palatable. Unfortunately, the manager of the bank seems to be incapable because he doesn't save the situation. He has refused caution his staff despite several complainants".

Meanwhile, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the bank, Mr. Louis Ibe when contacted told our reporter to send complaint to his email address.

But after seven hours of endless wait, he has refused to react as at the time of filing this report.
