Three Arrested For Robbing Ogun Hospital

ABEOKUTA - Three members of a robbery syndicate were last week arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for carrying out a robbery operation in a hospital at Omolaja Odunbaku street, Oremeji area of Ibafo in Obafemi Owode Local Government area of the state.

The suspects Folarin Azeez, Temitope Bolariwa, and Kolade Ahmed were arrested following a distress call received from police emergency centre on 7th of December 2019 that armed robbers have invaded Riverside hospital and dispossesing patients of their belongings.

The Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi explained that, on receiving the distress call, the DPO Ibafo, SP Abiodun Ayinde led his Anti-robbery team to scene where the suspects on sighting the policemen escaped through the nearby bush.

Oyeyemi said the police efforts to apprehend the hoodlums paid off last week when intelligence investigation revealed that the hoodlums were hibernating somewhere in shimawa area. 

He said the DPO and his operatives moved to the area where the three suspects were subsequently apprehended.

Recovered from them are: 12 different types of Android and iPhones as well as wrist watches which the victims later identified as their robbed property.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to special anti robbery squad (SARS) for an in depth investigation into their various robbery activities.

The CP also warned that any criminal who choose to come to ogun state with the intention to perpetrate any form of crime will have him or herself to blame as the command is ready to take the battle to the doorstep of the criminals.
