Yuletide: Ogun Police To Flag Off "Operation Restore Hope", Promise Clamp Down On Bandits

ABEOKUTA - As parts of effort to sanitise the state during and after the Yuletide season, the Ogun State Police Command will on Tuesday launch 'Operation Restore Hope'.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson, who addressed a press conference yesterday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State command said his command has put in place, a robust and elaborate security arrangement that will ensure adequate security in the state.

Ebrimson, who spoke with journalists at the Police command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital said the command will review all the existing crime-fighting strategies in line with the force's "Operation Puff Arder" to achieve effectiveness. 

The CP declared his readiness to combat crime, commitment and determination towards onslaught against vicious crimes. 

He added that a sustainable partnership will be maintained and improved with the state government, traditional rulers, community, religious leaders, civil society organizations,  Government and Non-Government organizations and the press. 

He therefore solicited for diverse expertise and whole community support as the command will reinforce 'operation Puff Adder' to meet up with the expectations of the Inspector General of Police, and the general public. 

He assured members of the public of his command's will to discharge its responsibilities in line with the professional ethics of the force and in accordance to the rule of law. 

"Consequently, my management team and I will review the existing crime fighting strategies and if needs be, we are going to renew them to make them more effective in order to meet up with the challenges of modern day policing.

"The command has put in place a robust and elaborate security arrangement under an operation code named 'Operation Restore Hope' this is to ensure a hitch free Christmas and New Year celebrations. 

"As we all know that the State is the host of International Headquarters of several religious institutions such as Reedeemed Christian Church of God, Celestial Church of God,  NASFAT, Mountain of Fire and many others.

"The implication of this is that the State will be witnessing influx of people who are going to come for one religious activity or the other and it is our duty to ensure their safety."
