Jubilation As Sholebo Becomes ROMO Chairman In Ogun

ABEOKUTA - It was celebration galore for members of Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organization (ROMO) in Ogun state as Comrade Razaq Sotayo otherwise known as Sholebo emerged as Chairman of the union in the state. 

'Sholebo' alongside his executive members were sworn-in to manage the affairs of the union on Friday at Conference Hotel, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Union was created to end crisis in the transport organizations across the state.

In his acceptance speech, Sholebo said, the Union was established to protect the interest and fight for the rights of motorcycle riders in the state.

He stressed that, the newly created transport union would take care of the general interest of the people.

He vowed that the union would adopt professionalism while carrying out her duties in the state.

The Chairman expressed appreciation to the State Governor for his intervention in the transport organizations in the state.

He said”It is my pleasure to welcome all of you to this august event which marks the inauguration of the newly established Motorcycles Association, Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organization, Ogun State (ROMO).

"I congratulate all the executives, I pray we shall work towards the development and progress of our Union. This Union is established to protect the interest and fight for the rights of motorcycle riders.

“This new born baby will take care of the general interest of the people. We will adopt professionalism as our guide.

"I once again thank our Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun. I also thank the transport committee members who were observers of our election”.

Meanwhile, members of Three Wheelers Owners and Riders Association (TWORA), Ogun State also elected Azeez Adeyemi as the union chairman.

Adeyemi and his executive members were also sworn in on Friday at Conference Hotel, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

In his acceptance speech, Adeyemi vowed that, the transport association would support the state government to achieve its dreams.

Personalities at the swearing in ceremony include; The Secretary of Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Ayo Olubori, the state Organizing Secretary of APC, Hon. Yemi Adelani and other stakeholders of the transport union in the state.
