Ogun To Partner With Largest Producer Of Day Old Chicken In Nigeria

ABEOKUTA - The Ogun state government has expressed its readiness to partner with the largest producer of day old chicken, Amobyn Nigeria Limited so as to boost the agricultural  economy of the state.  

The commissioner for Agriculture in the state, Dr. Samson Odedina said the government has resolved to drive Agricultural Industrialization as a key strategy for job creation and income generation for farmers, youths and unemployed graduates in the  State.

Dr. Odedina who spoke during the partnership meeting held at his office in Abeokuta shared the success story of the Ogun Broiler Project with the Amboyn company.  

The commissioner appreciated AMOBYN Nigeria Ltd for the support/encouragement given to entrepreneurs in Odeda. 

He noted that other adjoining areas which include: value chain training and post-training linkage of smart farmers to inputs, credits, technology and assured markets would be worked on.

In his remarks, the Group Managing Director of AMOBYN Nigeria Ltd, Dr Ayoola Oduntan, said the company plan to build a National Platform for the production of day old chicks and frozen chicken in Nigeria. 

Oduntan highlighted two schemes of possible partnership with Ogun State: Agripeneur Scheme (An Outgrower Scheme for farmers in Nigeria) and the Noiler Scheme (To increase proteins intakes of underprivileged in rural areas). 

He also commended the Ogun Agric Team for the Management of the Ogun Broiler Project which broke all existing records with an overall average weight of 1.91kg and a mortality rate of less than 2.5%.
