ABEOKUTA - The Ogun state police command on Friday has dispelled death rumor of two traders shot by men of Anti-cultism team.

It would be recalled that, crisis erupted in Abeokuta metropolis yesterday when SARS officers attached to the Ogun state police command shot two traders at Olomore while chasing yahoo boys.

But according to a release signed by the Police Spokesman in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said, the two victims of the gun shot are alive and responding to treatment at the state general hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta.

Oyeyemi explained that, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson was at the scene of the incident yesterday where he met them in a very stable condition.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun state has ordered full scale  investigation into the case with a view to unravel the immediate and remote cause of the crisis and sanction appropriately those that will be found wanting in one way or the other so as to forestall the re-occurrence of such ugly incident in future.

The Command therefore appealed to members of the public especially facebook and other social media users to desist from spreading fake and unverified information as this is capable of causing chaos and unwarranted shedding of blood.
