Ogun: Arabambi Fingers Adebutu In Fresh LP Crisis

ABEOKUTA - The Chairman, Labour Party in Ogun state, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has accused a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Ladi Adebutu for causing crisis in the party for his alleged 2023 governorship ambition.

Arabambi said the new move by Hon. Adebutu was to cause disunity among members of the party in the state and hijack the party following his failed attempt to take over the structure of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Engr. Bayo Dayo in the state.

THE ENCOUNTER NEWS reports that, some acclaimed members of LP in the state on Friday at a press conference impeached Comrade Arabambi as the party chairman in the state.

Addressing newsmen, Comrade Adebayo Ogunsi who identified himself as the party's Acting Chairman said the decision to remove Arabambi was moved by the party's executive at Abeokuta North local government where the impeached chairman came from.

But Arabambi in a press statement on Friday described the purported impeachment as a political misadventure.

He explained that, the new move by the former lawmaker may not be unconnected with his resistance to attend a meeting with Hon. Ladi Adebutu last week.

According to him, the outcome of the botched meeting resulted in the purported impeachment by Hon. Adebutu's gateman known as Ogunsi.

He however implored Hon. Adebutu to take solace in seeking political appointment from the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun or make peace with Senator Buruji Kashamu led PDP in the state.

"We, in Ogun Labour Party say with all emphasis that Wale Ogunsi is not a member of Ogun LP rather he is the current ward treasurer of the Ladi Adebutu wing of the dying Ogun PDP .

"As a corollary, the politically floating Oginni after earning suspension as the then State Sec of Ogun LP was adopted by Hon. Ladipo Adebutu who purchased the State Chairmanship of National Interest Party (NIP) an already de registered party for him, the records are in the public domain and with Ogun State INEC.

"Currently, Ogun PDP Lado group has its cup of troubles filled to the brim. He is confronted with a political intractable problems in the Engr. Bayo Dayo arm of Ogun PDP who is firmly in control of PDP in Ogun State.

"Hon. Ladi Adebutu's political options against 2023 became seriously threatened by his undisputed Leader Sen. Buruji Kashamu so much that Ladi Adebutu had in the last one year been hunting for an alternative Party.

"He initially settled on Olaposi Oginni who was a readily available tool, but ineffective to help him convince the LP to allow him use its platform while unknown to him that Oginni was already working to frustrate the then suit filed by the 2015 Governorship candidate of LP and the Party at the Tribunal.

"The first step they took was to hijack the IPAC Ogun State Chapter through the same set of people who went with him from LP to ADC to APC and now in PDP Lado group. Ayo Olubori is a very strong pillar in their scheme to rubbish LP and APC in Ogun State. This extremely unhealthy alliance has so far its first casualty in the former Sport Commissioner, now suspended.

"When the plan to hijack the IPAC Ogun Chapter failed, Lado bought the remnants of the faces of the de - registered political parties in Ogun State and claimed that they are the new alternative to the IPAC in Ogun State, named themselves as "League of (de -) registered political parties."

"Of course, I have to mention this, that a political individual who is a high class member of the Lado group was employed to make overtures to me to attend a meeting with Ladi Adebutu last week but I declined. They have come to see that it is going to be extremely impossible to hijack LP.

"Labour Party in Ogun State is not for sale. The silly and unintelligent press release signed by a complete stranger to LP Ogun State is just exactly what it is, a misadventure."
