ABEOKUTA - The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP,  Ilaro chapter has warned the suspended Student Union President, comrade Adegboye Emmanuel and his allies to stop attacking members of the union and the rector of the institution, Arc. Olusegun Aluko.

The union vowed that any further attempt to tarnish the image of its members will be viewed  with utmost seriousness.

This was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Com. Emmanuel Ademola and Foluso Faparusi.

The release  reads ''The attention of the union has been drawn to various allegations leveled against members of our union by the suspended SUG president of the student union, Comrade Adegboye  Emmanuel Olatunji in the media. To this end, the union wishes to state thus:

''That his allegation of teaching academic staff data analysis is not only false but baseless and insultive to the integrity of academic standard of our institution, we therefore in totality, condemn such a nasty statement which is aimed at derogating the quality of the lecturers in our institution.

''The union also found it so worrisome that a student of the institution could be mischievous by addressing members of staff to have been pocketed by the Rector and the management of the institution, this indeed is a white lie because  there is a cordial relationship between the management and the staffers of the institution which has culminated in maintenance of institution academic calendar.

''That the union frowned at the persistent attack on the personality of the Rector Arc. Olusegun Aluko, Ph.D by the suspended Student union president even when the case at hand is at the court of law.

''The union therefore wishes to warn the suspended union president and his allies to desist from their attacks on the Rector as well as members of the academic staff of the polytechnic as any further attempt may be viewed utmost seriousness.

''The union demands immediate apology from the suspended union president Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji for his verbal attacks on both Rector who is a member of ASUP as well as other academic staff who he alleged to have been pocketed''.
