Lee Group Donates Over N100m Worth Face Masks To Ogun Govt

ABEOKUTA - A Chinese Company, Lee Group of Company has donated face masks worth N108million naira to Ogun state government as part of its continued support to curb the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria. 

Donating the protective equipment to the state government on Thursday, the General Manager, Lee Group of Company, Mr. Phillip Seng said the face masks are to be distributed among the people of the state. 

He said the company was worried about the rise in the community transmission, noting that flatten the curve of the spread must be collective interest of all and sundry. 

Mr. Seng disclosed that, the company has been in existence for 60years and has well over 30,000 staff working for the company in Nigeria.

He added that, "the worth is about millions of dollars, one dollar each. It is about $300,000 USD at the exchange rate you can figure out the amount. 

"We have been in this country for almost 60years, we  consider ourselves as Nigerians even though our skin might not look exactly the same, so our friends and families are all in Nigeria.

"We have over 30,000 staff here in Nigeria, so this is not just for our own sake it is for everyone, for all States, for Nigerians."

Receiving the items on behalf of the state government, the state Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele expressed appreciation to the Chinese company. 

The Deputy Governor urged the management of the company to device all means to protect their staff from contacting covid-19. 

She advised them to sensitize their staff on the prevention of the pandemic as community transmission is on the rise.
