ABEOKUTA - Police in Ogun state says it has arrested four persons in connection with the violence that sparked at the Ijebu-Igbo park in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi in a press statement said the hoodlums were amongst those who attacked the motor parks.

The suspects, Kabiru Kazeem, Abiodun Yusuf, Adewale Adesina and Busayo Adesanya were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Ijebu-Igbo division that some people armed with dangerous weapons have invaded the motor parks and attacking people as well as destroying vehicles and other valuables within the park.

Oyeyemi explained that, upon the distress call, the DPO, SP Kazeem Solotan mobilized his men and raced to the scene.

He said on getting to the scene, it was discovered that the hoodlums have seriously injured one person and destroyed about 25 vehicles at the park.

He noted that, the thugs were dislodged by the police which led to the arrest of the suspects, while the injured person was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has directed that the arrested hoodlums be transferred to the State criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.

He also directed that those who are directly or indirectly involved in the pandemonium must be hunted for and brought to book.

The CP therefore warned that anybody who chose violence as a means of settling any issue in the State will have the Command to contend with as such action will not be tolerated under his watch.
