Ogun NUJ: Segun Folarin Elected As Paramount FM Chapel Chairman

ABEOKUTA - Paramount FM Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun State Council has elected new leaders to run the chapel for the next three years.

The new executive which has Olusegun Folarin as Chairman has been inaugurated at the Broadcasting House, Kobape road, Abeokuta. 

Other Members of the executive are Jonathan Adekunle, Vice Chairman and Francisca Irekpita, Secretary, Bolanle Adesida, Treasurer and Oluwatoyin Adegoke as the Assistant Secretary.

The new executive members of the NUJ Paramount FM chapel were emerged unopposed and were returned elected following the recommendations of the credentials and screening committee led by Modupeola Sobukola.

Presiding over the election, the chairman, caretaker committee of NUJ, Ogun State Council, Mrs Omolola Adeyinka urged them to accommodate all members and uphold ethical practices.

Also, The General Manager, Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Alhaji Adeniyi Odekunle in a goodwill message encouraged the new leadership to initiate programmes that would benefit members of the union.

In his remark, the State Secretary, Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union, Rattawu, Seun Odeyemi urged the new Chapel executives to collaborate to promote unity and partner other house unions for the progress of the Station.

Speaking on behalf of the officers, the newly appointed chairman, Olusegun Folarin promised to uphold the image of the Union as well as facilitate training and retraining of members for effective delivery.

While describing the leadership task as a collective responsibility, the new Chairman pledged that his tenure would consolidate on the achievements of the Olatunji Idowu led past executives. 

Highlight of the occasion was taking the oath of office by the new Chapel leaders with Paramount FM management, past leaders of the Union and the Secretary, caretaker committee of the NUJ state council, Wale Oluokun in attendance.
