Anti-Malaria: Wamakko To Spend 20m Fumigating Sokoto

SOKOTO - Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption, will be spending no fewer than 20million naira fumigating some local government areas of Sokoto state.

The exercise which is expected to last for a month is a continuation of annual anti Malaria fight.  

Wamakko, who was represented at the flag off ceremony by his Director of Administration, Alhaji Almustapha Abubakar Alkali, said as a Leader and and a Senator, it was incumbent on him to contribute his own quota towards total eradication of malaria in the state.  

The exercise is being conducted in Wamakko, Sokoto North,Sokoto South, Kware and Dange/Shuni Local Governments.

According to the former governor, (Wamakko) he is optimistic that the annual gesture will go a long way in boosting the socioeconomic wellbeing of the people of the state.

This, he added was because, only a healthy being can be a wealthy community.

In their separate remarks, the APC Chairmen in Wamakko, Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Governments, Alhaji Bello Jijji Bado, Alhaji Almustapha Kwandawa and Alhaji Bello Mainasara, respectively, commended Wamakko for the immeasurable gesture, just as they pledged to ensure the success of the exercise.

The trio further lauded Senator Wamakko for his unwavering commitment towards alleviating the sufferings of the people of the state right from when he was deputy governor, governor and now Senator.
