We'll Increase Players Allowances To Perform Better In CAF Champions League - Plateau United Boasts

JOS - The management of Jos based football club, Plateau United has assured fans that, the club would do everything possible to motivate the players for better performance in the new season of CAF Champions League. 


The General Manager of club, Pius Henwan, said the Lalong boys are ready for the CAF Champions League and can't wait for the Nigeria professional Football League (NPFL) new season as soon as football activities resumes. 


Speaking with THE ENCOUNTER NEWS in Jos, Henwan said the team would do better in the forthcoming elite league of club football in the continent, assuring that the state government would give all the support they need to succeed by increasing the players allowances and match bonues.


"If you will recall the team played it CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup home matches away from home the last time they featured in the competition, but we hope to play here in Jos this time around," Henwan said. 


On the issue of homegrown players from the state, he said the players have to improve on their games and compete with others to have the best players that will represent the team. 


"Plateau United is among the four teams that will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup come next season, so we have to do everything humanly possible to ensure we did not jeopardize our chances in the competition."
