Abeokuta South APC Rewards Members' Loyalty, Gives Out Cash Empowerment

ABEOKUTA - All Progressives Congress (APC) of Abeokuta South local government in Ogun state on Wednesday gave financial empowerment to members of the party in the council area. 


Speaking at the presentation of cash reward to the party members, Caretaker Chairman, Abeokuta South local government, Hon. Ayodeji Shomide explained that, the exercise was to reward party members for their supports and loyalty to Governor Dapo Abiodun's government.


Shomide noted that, the quarterly empowerment was for members across the 15 wards in the local government, stressing that other members would benefit from the gesture in the next empowerment programme. 


He maintained that Abeokuta south local government was the first local government organizing the empowerment for the people.


He said, ''What we are doing today is empowerment for our party members as a way of giving governance back to our people, because it was part of the promises that we have made that we will support our  people with whatever they are doing, that is the essence of why we are here today.

"This is going to be continuous. This is just the beginning. It is going to cut across everyone across the local government.


Also speaking, a leader of the party in the local government, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi who represented Governor Abiodun urged the party members to remain steadfast and committed to the progress of the party. 


The beneficiaries described the empowerment as a kind gesture. They appreciated the state government and the party leaders for empowering them.


About seventy five beneficiaries picked across the fifteen wards in the local government.


Party leaders at the empowerment programme included, former Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Gomez, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, former SLG to Abeokuta South, Hon. Nurudeen Olaleye, Chairman Abeokuta South, Hon. Ayodeji Shomide among others.
