Chief Fagbenro otherwise known as Agbomola said the empowerment which commenced last year to compensate party members, would continue adding that 75 people  benefited this month.

He also encouraged them to continue to believe in the party.

He said, ''What we are doing today is empowerment for our party members as a way of giving governance back to our people, because it was part of the promises that we have made that we will support our  people with whatever they are doing, that is the essence of why we are here today.

"This is going to be continuous. This is just the beginning. It is going to cut across everyone across the local government.

In his own submission, the Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape noted that, the quarterly empowerment was for members across the 15 wards in the local government, stressing that other members would benefit from the gesture in the next empowerment programme.

He maintained that Abeokuta south local government was the first local government organizing the empowerment for the people

Afuape who represented Governor Abiodun urged the party members to remain steadfast and committed to the progress of the party.

Expressing optimism that the party will sail through in future polls with the calibre of personalities thronging into the broom party, Honourable Afuape affirmed that the current administration in the gateway state will continue to ensure that dividends of democracy reach the nooks and crannies of the state.

He equally tasked the members to ensure the revalidation of their membership adding that  new entrants should be encouraged to join the winning team.

Advising on the essence of unity and the need to ensure a formidable front, Honourable Afuape tasked members to remain as one big family.

The beneficiaries described the empowerment as a kind gesture. They appreciated the state government and the party leaders for empowering them.

Also speaking, some Party leaders including Honourable  Lekan Adegun, Mrs Ranti Ogunmokun (OGBC board member) and Honourable Nurudeen Olaleye noted that love, oneness, unity and hardwork are essential for the progress of the party.
