Employment Scam: FCE Provost Raises Alarm Over Job Racketeers

The Provost of the newly established Federal College of Education, Ebonyi State, Dr. Reuben Okechukwu, has raised alarm over the nefarious activities of job scammers and Racketeers under the pretence of  offering job opportunities to unsuspecting public’s.

Dr Okechukwu made this condemnation in the  institution at the weekend while inspecting on going projects and facilities being constructed in the College.

He emphasized that the College was not recruiting at the moment advising prospective applicants to be wary of such fraudsters.

“The attention of the Management of the institution has been drawn to the rumour making rounds that the College has commenced recruitment of staffs”.

According to him, "some unscrupulous elements have been going about extorting money from people under the guise of securing employment for them”.

“The institution was not recruiting at the moment, prospective applicants should be calm and vigilant and wait for a time when the school would carry out its recruitment exercise according to the process recognized by law”.

The Provost reiterated that the newly established college would not carry out employment exercises without approval from the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation.

"The gossip is a product of ignorance, there is no way the institution would commence its recruitment of staff without due approval from the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation”.

“It is therefore imperative to state explicitly that the buzz was a complete falsehood which exists only in the imagination of mischief makers laying siege to hoodwink unsuspecting job seekers “

Dr. Okechukwu warned purveyors of these antics to desist from such acts before the law catches up with them.

“I call  on the General Public  to disregard the speculations, I enjoin prospective applicants to remain calm and vigilant,  wait for such a time when the school would carry out its recruitment exercise by the Law”

The Provost commended Governor David Umahi for the speedy approval and release of the Land Documents for the Permanent Site.

“The release of the Exchange Documents of the land is a demonstration of Governor Umahi's commitment to the development of Education.

It would be recalled that the Federal College of Education Isu, was newly established by the Federal Government and is billed to take off academic Programmes by October 2021.
