OGSG Reiterates Commitment To Digital Economy

 


ABEOKUTA - In line with 2020 National Council on Communication and Digital Economy, Ogun state Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) has reiterated the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration to develop young innovators that would promote digital economy in the state.


This was made known at the training programme organized by the Bureau to commemorate this year's Digital Nigeria Day at Ogun Tech Hub, Kobape Abeokuta.


Declaring the programme open, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Dayo Abiodun said the training is in three parts; to develop secondary school leavers who are seeking admission on a career pathway, help job seekers on how to be managers of the digital economy as well as welcome ideas from young innovators who have come to pitch their ideas which will help the state government in achieving its set goals on the digital economy.


Special Adviser charged the participants to proactively identify opportunities, stimulate innovations and profer solutions to enhancing the digital economy of the country and become Digit entrepreneurs to employment among graduates.


Delivering her welcome address, Director, Information Technology (IT), Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte stated that the training is an opportunity for participants to acquire more knowledge on career pathways, showcase innovations that would boost the digital economy of the state.


She disclosed that government would pick the best among the participants who came to pitch their ideas, encourage him or her financially if the need is, and recommend it to the public, a private and international sector whose innovation would be useful.


A participant and an undergraduate at the training, Ayomikun Abimbola while appreciating the state government for coming up with the program stated that he is developing a website that will add value to the judicial system by giving the public opportunity to identify specialized lawyers with their profile who could advocate cases professionally thereby making the process seamless.
