Poverty, Ignorance, Inducement Reasons People Support Yayi's Inglorious Ambition - Ogun APC Stalwart

ABEOKUTA - A leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Mr. Bolaji Adeniji has described the senatorial ambition of Senator, representing Lagos West, Adeola Olamilekan Yayi as an aberration to the people of Yewa/Awori in the state.

Senator Yayi is aspiring to contest the Ogun West Senatorial seat after completing his second term at the red chamber as Lagos Senator.

But Adeniji, a loyalist of Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) said the Yewa/Awori people will not lend themselves to an aberration, saying it is unthinkable for Yayi to leave his current seat he is occupying in Lagos State and jump to Ogun State.

He said it is the weaponization of poverty, ignorance and inducement that make some APC leaders in Yewaland to be running around with his name.

The outspoken political analyst who spoke on a TV programme, "Political Arena" said, in the current political marginal of Ogun West, only Hon. Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade and Gboyega Isiaka are the leading aspirants who have declared their ambitions to represent the senatorial district at the National Assembly.

Adeniji, however, took a swipe at the incumbent senator representing the zone, Senator Tolu Odebiyi for belonging to former governor Ibikunle Amosun group which according to him, has been ostracized by the State Governor.

"Nobody is a Governor man, Senator Yayi is not playing politics in Ogun State. The only man playing politics in Ogun state is Gboyega Nasir Isiaka. Yayi is not an Ogun State Senator, he is a Lagos Senator as of today. So, I don't know him to be a political player in Ogun State.

"People can be running around in his name. You know the weaponization of poverty, ignorance, and inducement by the politicians in some core part of Yewaland have make people to lose their sense of reasoning, and drinking from the cup of feeding liquor makes people irrational.

"As of today, only two aspirants have declared their ambitions to run for Senate in Yewa. GNI has come out to say he wants to run, a three-time House Representatives member, Hon. Abiodun Akinlade has also declared that he wants to run.

"I'm not aware that the incumbent has come out to say he is contesting. For the incumbent, you will understand that he is within a fraction of the party that is not within the mainstream he belongs to the Ibikunle Amosun faction of the party, which has now been ostracized in terms of party leadership."
