Osoba A Rare Gift To Ogun State, Adejojo Eulogizes Ex-Governor On 83rd Birthday

Chief Osoba

ABEOKUTA - A member, representing Abeokuta South State Constituency 1 at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuff Adejojo has described former governor of Ogun State and APC national leader, Chief Segun Osoba as a ‘rare gift’ to Ogun State.

Adejojo made the remark while paying tribute to the "Akinrogun of Egbaland" on his 83rd birthday.

Adejojo stated that Osoba was one of the great leaders that suffered for the democracy being enjoyed in the country today and also dubbed the father of modern Ogun State.

According to him, "Chief Osoba is a gift to Ogun State and the country at large. He made us proud when he was the Managing Director of Daily Times. He brought his wealth of experience as an investigate journalist into bear by bringing Daily Times back to life. Records don't lie they say, the records are there for people to see.

"I call him the father of Modern Ogun State because of his achievement in the area of rural development. It is on record that Chief Osoba developed the rural areas across the 20 local government areas in the State by constructing grade A roads so the villagers could feel the presence of government in their hamlets.

"He also gave out transformers to the rural dwellers so they could enjoy regular power supply. It is on record that no governor had given attention to the rural dwellers like governor Osoba in the history of Ogun State," Adejojo said.

He continued "His contribution to the June 12 struggle is unquantifiable. At a point he was the one driving Chief M.K.O Abiola to campaign grounds in Abeokuta. Baba Osoba is noble in birth. He is a father to us and a national icon.

"Baba Osoba’s rising political profile since he was elected governor in 1992 “is a testimony to his forthrightness, diligence, and doggedness. Our leader is a formidable political force who has brought positive changes to the political landscape of Ogun State and Nigeria.

"Sir, you have proven to be a true hero of democracy, a light that cannot be concealed.

"You have proven yourself to be a leader of high ethics and morality. Thank you for your service and happy birthday sir."
